The core team (and the people that we collaborate with) all share a commitment to conscious living, conscious parenting, a love of artisan goods, protecting the environment and a deep appreciation of Caribbean culture.
Artist, storyteller, passionate.
Her beloved UWI Jamaica mentor, Professor Aggrey Brown (RIP) once described her as having a stellar personality [she is yet to figure out exactly what he meant, but decided to include it here as she figures that’s the kind of stuff that looks really good on a bio.] With a background in the visual arts, marketing, media and communications, Jeunanne owns/creative directs the design studio “Everything Slight Pepper” which produces “ESPjr”. She is passionate about the Caribbean, design and conscious living.
Always excited, exploring and observing – she is constantly connecting with educators and artists, trying to find ways that the brand can have more meaningful impact. She lives by the mantra “Have fun in what you do; Love your work and hope your enthusiasm will be contagious.” – through ESPjr she is determined to use her communications skills and design talent to effect social change.
Little known fact: Jeunanne does not have a musical bone in her body, in fact, most times she can barely even find enough rhythm to walk without tripping!
Mother. Birth Doula. Educator.
She is a former teacher, mother of 3 (hardback grown adults), certified birth doula and entrepeneur. Officially, she is the managing director of “Snikla” a partnership with her husband; Snikla (A-L-K-I-N-S spelled backwards) is a family run environment-friendly supply shop that is rooted in recycling, refilling and refurbishing services for computer and print accessories.
At ESPjr, Andrea is mainly responsible for two things A. keeping her headstrong, “occasionally” compulsive daughter in check and B. managing the production and distribution channels for the retail side of the brand.
Little know fact: Andrea IS musical – she plays the steel pan, guitar and any instrument she can get her hands on. In Trinidad, she moonlights playing the quatro in a parang ensemble that roams the country at Christmas time.
The pair can be spotted arguing at the start of EVERY artisan market they attend with ESPjr… BUT also sharing a post-event celebratory beverage together in the latter’s backyard banana patch.
